Getting their inspiration from the Tuvan folk, Khoomei Beat are also inspired by rock music, funk and pop. Using all these influences with their old tradition allows them to tell about their history, traditions and customs in a modern way. In their music one can feel the power of the wind, which brings the smell of mountain’s herbs and see herds of sheep and grazing horses in the mountain valleys. Khoomei Beat musicians are masters of many traditional instruments and missionaries of Tuvan throat singing. In their arrangements they use throat singing not only as a vocal, but also as yet another musical instrument along with igil, byzaanchi, drums, bass-guitar ,cello and keyboard.
The band was created in 2017 by friends and professional Tuvan musicians. Some of them were studying together in Krasnoyarsk Conservatory, some are members of Tuvan National Orchestra of traditional instruments. Inspite of their young age two of them - Aikhan Oorzhak and Kan Khuler Saaja - are declared the honored artists of Tuva and Bailak Mongush is known as the best Tuvan drummer.
A warm-up act of Khoomei Beat is an Estonian folkrock band Fylgja.
