Voting record at Etnokulp 2016 public voting

Public voting for ethnical music awards Etnokulp 2016 ended today at midnight. This year a record number of people voted for their favourites and the winners will be disclosed on october 7th, at Traditional Music Center and live broadcast on tv channel ETV2.

Tarmo Noormaa, head of Estonian Traditional Music Center claimed that it was the most successful voting for Etnokulp of all the times and not just because there was a voting record, but there was also a noteworthy diversity among the nominees and the commitment of spreading the news about voting. “The voting was incredibly even and majority of nominees labored a lot to mobilize their fans and that proves the good condition of Estonian folk music and the importance of the awards for musicians”, Noormaa explained.

To find out the best folm musicians, 2510 persons gave their voice and that is the record of voting for Etnokulp.

In addition to Etnokulp awards, many other events will take place in Traditional Music Center this weekend, because the XIV Lõikuspidu will take place in Viljandi. Among other artists there will perform Zetod ja Lõõtsavägilased, one of the most famous and thrilling female singers in Hungary - Beata Palya and Irish harp player Laoise Kelly, who gave a powerful show at Viljandi Folk Festival this summer.
