Grand Hall of the Traditional Music Center

Mari Kalkun and friends

For the opening concert of the new season of the Traditional Music Center, Mari Kalkun (vocals, 7-string Estonian harp,12-string Estonian harp, guitar, piano, accordion) will perform her new music from her second record which will be released in September. The album is in several ways a continuation of her first album by being personal and based on heritage. At the same time, the new album takes a step further towards extending sound landscapes. The songs are mostly written by herself and inspiration for the songs was drawn from nature, poetry and traditional music. Triin Norman (vocals, piano), Silver Sepp (clarinet, bells and whistles), Siim Soop (double bass), Karolina Kreintaal (violin) will accompany Mari Kalkun on stage.

Lindpriid (Outlaws)

Inderk Kalda (vocals, violin)
Toomas Lunge (Vocals, piano, accordion)
Jaan Sööt (vocals, guitar)

Toomas Lunge: "Our first album consisted of a selection of songs dating from the Second World War period. Because several good songs did not fit onto the first album, we decided to release another album with songs from the same era. Little by little we moved away from the 1940s. We all like lounge and light music and we started playing it. By the time our 5th album was released, we had reached the 1960s which was the time of our childhood."
