“Virre” is an acoustic four-member band who plays mainly energetic folk dance tunes, among them some beautiful calm and sensational pieces. “Virre” combines traditional Estonian violin music and improvisation skills, in addition to it the tunes that have originally been played on other instruments, and some folk song arrangements.
“Virre” represents all stylistic features of Estonian folk music - cheerful (entertaining), melancholic, optimistic - using violin, viola, guitar and tambourines. Better a bow in the palm than a fiddler on the roof!
