Markus and Aini perform songs and tunes from various areas in Finland. Their program comprises ballads, Gypsy and dance songs.

Both of them study folk music at Joensuu at North-Karelian applied higher school. Last year they were exchange students at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy.

Aini Salmela (23) comes from Petäjävede, Central Finland. She has sung her whole life and has studied singing for the last four years in different schools: one year in Kaustinen, two years in Joensuu and one year in Viljandi. Aini is a temperamental and sensitive singer, she likes newer Finnish folk song the most, Finnish Gypsy songs and Estonian swinging songs.

Markus Rantanen (25) comes from Laitila, south-western Finland. He began to play the guitar at the age of 12. Markus has studied folk music for four years and graduates from the school in Joensuu this year. He is simultaneously studying folk music at the Sibelius Academy. Markus also plays in Sari Kaasinen & Otawa ensemble, and has worked as a theater musician as well as with folk dance groups.
