Armastuse ja rõõmu laulud/Songs of love and joy
Estonia
For gourmands
The sources of the repertoire are the last century and the one before that – newer Estonian runosongs, village songs, folk chorals and instrumental tunes. Meelika Hainsoo (Vägilased, Wirbel, Strand...Rand) has included in the program some important stories of her own family, and together with Mall Ney harmonium, Elo Kalda kannel and Maarja Nuut violin these songs can only be heard at this one concert at the Festival.
“All these pictures are somewhere in the times gone by, yet so real. That’s why I invited some of my good friends to have a look together into this dear old, and maybe somewhat remote world of our grandmothers and –fathers, doing this through the songs and tunes from these times. Every songs has a story to tell, every story has a piece of someone’s life in it...”, says Meelika Hainsoo.
